CityKids Foundation

In 1985, cultural activist Laurie Meadoff founded The CityKids Foundation as a non-profit, multicultural youth organization dedicated to actively involving youth in finding solutions to the issues that faced them. Today, The CityKids Foundation continues to use arts and educational programs to empower urban young people ages 13 to 19 to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to succeed in school, the workplace, and life. Led by CityKids staff and senior youth participants, CityKidsograms serve over 650 youth directly every year. CityKids performances, workshops, and mass media productions touch the lives of an additional 20,000 young people annually.
