Love Is All - Peace on Earth

My passion is music, and my dream is a world vibrantly awake and united in peace and harmony. Music is the universal language of love that offers us a vibrational bridge to our undefended heart. Our hearts are opened by the beauty and grace of a song, softening the edges of our clever, calculating minds that would like to keep us in the cage of separateness, defending our opinions and judgments. The ego mind has no sway in the rhythm of the heart song, and we are drawn into a place of innocence and oneness, a pure space of peace with the potential to inspire a shift of great momentum.

The ANH ‘Symphony of Transformation’ last March in Costa Rica offered those of us in attendance just such a bridge. Crossing over that magnificent bridge of inspiration, our hearts were opened wider, and a movement was begun. As our hearts have opened wide to saying ‘yes’ to being instruments of peace, we are being guided to our partners, our band mates, our fellow ‘peace players’. Deepak calls this ‘synchrodestiny’, and it is a divine dance that places us on the path of just who we need to meet to fulfill this divine assignment. I have had a series of these ‘synchronicities’ in the past year that cease to amaze me, and confirm that there is a Great Conductor guiding us as players in this great ‘Symphony of Transformation’.

Dr. Mitra Doherty, a dentist and active environmentalist in my home province of Ontario, came across my CD ‘Pray Rain’ several years ago, and invited me to collaborate on an Earth Charter presentation she had created. Weaving the initiatives of the Charter with my songs and poems that speak to the essence of the work of peace, social justice and environmental sustainability, we have done these presentations for several years now. Mitra asked me to come to Costa Rica last March to do this presentation as part of the opening day of the Forum, and I happily agreed. From the very first conversation I had with Mabel Lasselle, I knew her truly kind and generous presence was a gateway to the energy of the team of inspiring individuals creating this magnificent event.

The ball of synchronicity really began to roll after the Forum, and I was delighted to meet Cheryl Hutton, also from Ontario, who was creating a wonderful concert series called ‘To Be One’. We hadn’t met in Costa Rica, but met in Ontario soon after, linking our common passions for peace and music. Cheryl hosted a magnificent sacred water ceremony in Niagara Falls last August with Celia Fenn, a peacemaker from South Africa, and she invited me to sing my song ‘Love Is All’. It was a truly moving and sacred ceremony, linking ceremonies Celia had performed around the world last summer.. ‘Love Is All’ is an ode to the Divine Feminine, a song prayer for our world at this time of transformation, invoking the qualities of unconditional love, compassion, and healing.

I have been honoured to sing ‘Love Is All’ many places around the world; at the top of The Tor in St. Michael’s Tower and in the Chalice Well Gardens in Glastonbury, at Chichen Itza in Mexico, and at many sacred water ceremonies and healing conferences. in May 2007, I sang ‘Love Is All’ before a keynote talk that Deepak Chopra gave at a conference in London, Ontario. Last June, I was prompted to attend a conference in Chicago called ‘Celebrate Your Life’, feeling guided that I would be meeting more players in this beautiful ‘Symphony of Transformation’ there. Little did I know that the first such synchrodestiny would be with Deepak himself! The afternoon before Deepak’s keynote talk, we ‘bumped into’ each other in the food court near the conference hotel. Deepak remembered our meeting at the conference in London, and we had a lovely exchange where he invited me to stay in touch with my creative endeavours.

I was in Detroit recently where Deepak was releasing his most recent book ‘Jesus-A Story of Enlightenment’. I was deeply moved by Deepak’s story of the Barcelona Forum where the ‘I Take The Vow’ movement began. I was honoured to be one of the many people who stood in Detroit that evening, taking a vow of non-violence in our thoughts, words, and deeds.

I was so inspired by the ‘I Take The Vow’ website that I posted the ‘Love Is All’ youtube video in the Voices section, grateful to share this song that I composed for this time on earth when people are having the courage and compassion to BE instruments of peace. Soon after I posted the video, I was delighted to meet Kim Klingler from ANH, another peace player from Ontario, who also knows Cheryl Hutton, and whom Deepak had suggested I contact. Kim sent me beautiful email in response to the song, and another peace partnership and soul friendship was forged. The symphony of synchronicity continues to unfold, and we are being guided by the gentle promptings of our heart to meet our soul family to bring the essence of the message to the world…the time is now… I take the vow…love is all.
