Who ever heard of a parenting school? You can learn almost anything today yet most parents are thrown into the deepend without any preparation when it comes to the most important job one will perhaps ever have – bringing another human being into the world. Conscious parenting offers hope for our world bringing powerful and sustainable solutions to the many diverse challenges facing humanity.
When Julie Gerland heard in 1982 that if we looked after the pregnant mother, in just two gnerations (or 50 years) we could close our prisons and hospitals, she decided to dedicate her life to empowering future parents from preconception preparation to early childhood.
For over twenty five years Julie has invested her passion and love full-time for her non-profit parenting programme: The Holistic Parenting Program: Preconception to Birth & Beyond... empowering parents and training professionals. She is active through several major world associations on prenatal and perinatal psychology, health and natural childbirth, including OMAEP (The World Association of Prenatal Education Associations) which enjoys special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
Julie says, science now confirms ancient wisdom that future parents hold the keys to their child’s development, health, happiness, intellectual, creative and spiritual capacities. Our perception of the universe is formed in utero as a sub-conscious program. Perceiving the universe as hostile or friendly determines whether we live mostly in love or fear which in turn influences our character and behaviour. The prenatal child lives everything the mother lives, as the mother is the child’s first universe. When we live in fear we live in protection and violence. When we live in Love we live in Growth and Creativity.”
